AI Exposure On The Job: Which US Workers Are Most Affected
In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, the impact of generative AI on the American workforce is becoming increasingly significant. But who is really being impacted the most?
A recent Pew research study reveals that approximately 19% of U.S. workers are in roles highly exposed to AI, where their primary tasks could either be replaced or assisted by AI. Interestingly, women, Asians, college-educated individuals, and higher-paid workers are more likely to be in these roles.
However, those in the most AI-exposed industries tend to view AI as a helper rather than a threat to their jobs. This perspective is particularly prevalent in the information and technology sector, where 32% of workers believe AI will benefit them more than harm them.
The study also highlights that jobs with high AI exposure are typically higher-paying roles where a college education and analytical skills are advantageous.
What should you do if you find yourself being highly impacted by AI in the workplace? Read the full report here: https://www.pewresearch.org/social-trends/2023/07/26/which-u-s-workers-are-more-exposed-to-ai-on-their-jobs/
